New Theme Aetas Flower 1.0

It finally happened. I have designed a new theme that is much faster than the last one. The last theme, my Aetas Grunge Theme, was my first attempt to design a theme, and though it worked out well carried beginners issues and other problems. My new Theme, Aetas Flower, does not carry as many issues though I still have a lot of work to do.

In this version I have had created a menu that will indicate which page you are currently viewing, also I have made my own searchbar and button. I will create tutorials on how to make this work as soon as I have time to do so.

TODO list to Finalize Aetas Flower:

  • Update sidebar.php with CSS markup to make it more appealing
    • Login
    • Random Picture
    • Archives
    • Categories
    • Latest Thoughts
    • Blogroll
    • Meta
  • Update the picture page, to show larger image, smaller menu, and no sidebar
  • Update gallery page CSS for better appeal.
  • Update navigation menu
  • Update About page
  • Update Archives pages to show articles
  • General code cleanup

Aetas GrungeWhen I have the time I will cleanup the Grunge Theme and make it available. Though there is quit a deal to work with as this theme is quit on the heavy side with graphics, which was also gave problems with the load time. I have learned a lot form this attempt and can only encourage others to give it a try too. There are a number of places where you get help apart from http://wordpress.org/support/, google.com is a fantastic too to find inspiration and get help with any problem you might experience.

The tools that I have been using creating both the Grunge Theme and the Flower theme includes the followering

  • Adobe Photoshop CS 3
  • Adobe Dreamweaver CS 3
  • TextEdit
  • Cyberduck
