Yesterday I ventured into the iPhone hardware world, as I tried combining two broken iPhones into one working iPhone. I had one iPhone which was bricked, and after hours (read a 100+ hours) I finally gave it up, as I did not have the knowledge to unbrick the iPhone. The other iPhone had a broken home button, which effectively made the iPhone useless.

Anyway, I use this guide: “Installing-iPhone-1st-Generation-Display-Assembly” from ifixit.com to disassemble both iPhones and afterwards combining the working hardware from each iPhone. In the guide they use specific tools, but I found that a small screwdriver and a small kitchen knife and a pair of tweezers would do the job just as well. (more…)

Hvidt fladskærms TV?

I længere tid har jeg været interesseret i at få et LED TV (Samsung UE-40B7090), men jeg vil have det i hvid. Det har ikke været muligt for mig at finde det på nettet, eller nogle andre steder. Derfor har jeg fundet på alternative måder at få lavet et LED TV hvidt.

En omfattende research på nettet viste mig at der er utrolig mange veje til Rom. Jeg nåede omkring case modding til både computere og hifi udstyr. Herfra blev jeg ledt videre til køretøjer, hvor adskillige muligheder meldte sig. Heriblandt pulverlakering, lakering og til sidst folie. Mange biler og andre motorkøretøjer får deres overflade farvet med reklamer eller ligende og det viste sig at det er folie man benytter til den slags. (more…)

Google Wave – first impression

I was so lucky to get an invitation to try out Google Wave, so I thought I would share my impressions.

First of the layout looks very similar to any regular e-mail inbox. However, the difference quickly becomes evident as soon as I started navigating around this new idea of communication.

Google Wave is the first serious attempt to get ridge og the old fashion e-mail system.

My first thoughts on waveing was that it is quite cool. It seems to me that it combines different kinds of communication from which it brings the best. In a way waveing (when you send a mail using Google Wave) is at best comparable if you imagine you self to be sitting with whomever you communicate with but instead of talking you would be write on the same document.
