Apple Talk

Recently I had another very pleasent experience with Apple. My Mac Book Pro 17″ (the first generation) had a malfunction with its build in iSight camera. I have had several problems with my mac, I think it is because it is the first generation.

I called up apple support 1-800-MY-APPLE and was connected to support. The first guy I spoke to realized my problem was a bit more complicated than the regular problems. Because it is almost three years ago I bought my MBP the warranty had run out. The repairs of my MBP included that my screen have been repaired twice, and a swollen battery that had to be swapped with a working one. The Apple supporter read all this information by the serial number of my mac and saw that this was a bit extreme.

The next apple supporter I spoke to were extremely nice. We talked for a while about my mac, and I explained him what I had been through with repairs. I told him that last time I had my mac repaired I was told by the supporter that if I had another big repair on my mac, they would swap my mac with a new. The supporter told me that he would see what he could do about. So he got my number and would call me back.

After a few minutes he called me back and told me that he had both good and bad news. The bad news was that they could not give me a new mac, because my warranty had run out. However, because I have had so much trouble with my mac they would be willing to repair my iSight camera and give me 90 days support on that part of my mac. He told me that he would send me a box so that I could return my mac for repair. The day after I had my box.

Thank you Apple for the great service!
